TEch tools IN MY bIG KAHUNA PROJECT
I will be using several tech tools in my project. These include:
- YouTube: I am proficient with YouTube and feel confident in using it.
- TechSmith's Jing.com: I have used Jing.com in the past, however not for over a year. I am excited to use it again!
- PowerPoint: Although we are kind of defining PowerPoint as 'old school' I think with the add-ons it is an entirely different experience. I am proficient with PowerPoint.
- TechSmith's Camtasia Add-On: I have only used this feature once before and I had a hard time with it. Which is hard to believe because it is relatively simple. However, my laptop's microphone does not pick-up audio. In order to do this, I have to plug in an external microphone.
- Wordle: I love word clouds and I think students enjoy them even more. I like to allow them the chance to create one because I think it is a way of brainstorming.
- Prezi: I have only made Prezi presentations a couple of times. I am not as proficient with it as PowerPoint however I like the presentation style more as long as you don't jump too much.
- Weebly: This will be my first time using Weebly and so far I am hooked - I LOVE IT.
- Cloud Computing - Google Docs/Driver: For awhile I used this a lot, then I got away from it for awhile. I was exciting for my group to discuss Cloud Computing because I recently decided to begin using them again. I hope to one day teach exclusively online, so I really want to push myself and students to use clouds. I will use Google because I know the are free.
- The Internet and Web: Students will be writing a persuasive paper, therefore I want them to research the Andersonville Trial, the Stanford Prison Experiment and the Milgram Experiment more than what we will spend on it in class.
- Video: We will watch the Andersonville Trial movie on the due date of the essays.
- Criterion Writing Evaluation Website found at https://criterion.ets.org/: This online writing evaluation system is used in many schools to grade essays. It is supposed to help students prepare for the SAT/ACT writing exam.
